7Citizenship Certificate
Take the citizenship oath, receive your certificate, and apply for your Croatian passport.
Goal: Complete the final steps to become a Croatian citizen and prepare to apply for your Croatian passport.
Congratulations!
If you've reached this stage, your Croatian citizenship application has been approved! This is a significant achievement that opens the door to all the benefits of Croatian and EU citizenship.
Three Steps
Take the Citizenship Oath
Once your application is approved, you'll be invited to take the citizenship oath at the Croatian embassy or consulate.
You'll receive an official notification from the embassy or consulate informing you that your citizenship application has been approved and inviting you to schedule your oath ceremony.
Contact the embassy or consulate to schedule your oath ceremony. This is typically a brief, formal event where you'll pledge allegiance to Croatia.
Dress professionally for the ceremony. You'll recite the citizenship oath, which affirms your commitment to respect the laws and constitution of Croatia.
Receive Your Citizenship Certificate
After taking the oath, you'll receive your official Croatian citizenship certificate (Domovnica).
The Domovnica is your official proof of Croatian citizenship. It contains your personal information and confirms your status as a Croatian citizen.
Your citizenship certificate is an important document that you'll need for various official purposes, including applying for your Croatian passport. Store it securely with your other important documents.
You may want to request additional certified copies of your citizenship certificate for future use, as some applications may require you to submit the original document.
Apply for Your Croatian Passport
With your citizenship certificate in hand, you can now apply for your Croatian passport.
You'll need your citizenship certificate, passport photos that meet Croatian requirements, your current passport, and a completed passport application form.
Submit your passport application at the Croatian embassy or consulate. You'll need to pay the passport application fee, which varies depending on the type and validity of the passport.
Processing times for Croatian passports vary, but you'll be notified when your passport is ready for collection. You may need to return to the embassy or consulate to pick it up in person.
